The beginning of an end..

The end is near.

As I cycled down Thompson Road, everything becomes clear.
When vehicles nears, the angry sound of changing gears, how reckless steers.

But that does not worry me.
When our survival is entirely weighed on our ability to concentrate, the mind will not disappoint us.

The road turns into a mathematical geometry sheet.
Directions plotted. Time of impact, estimated.
Every risk calculated. Every movement, anticipated.

The power of the human mind.

It defeats any object. It overpowers.
Computers, navigators, speedometers, calculators. You name it.
Adequate motivation with comforting words, it empowers our will, our drive, our need to strive.
To fulfill an embedded ideal or to discover all of this world's appeal.

Everything with a beginning comes with an end.

The care of a mother, the embrace of a lover, the glimmering tears of happiness from someone who truly cares.
So does bad things, just like all beautiful things will also have an end.
Likewise, the mind.

Armored by years of nurturing, we observe and judge the world based on our 'common sense'.
To each their own.
We look down on another's, we laugh and humiliate. We excite ourselves with cheap humor.
We fail to see our own logic from the perception of another.
We refuse to consider. Or is it fear?
Fear that all we have done or stood by is irrelevant to our lives.
That it is not enough to bring forth. To instill in the generations that has yet to come.
That we have after all pursue something of no worth, become someone of no value.

Is this the end of the mind? When it captures only as much as the eyes and ears does.

Is this the end when fulfillment is attained through entertainment or excessive attention rather than accomplished dreams, awarded work of brilliance or something as simple as providing aid to another without asking anything in return? Is it the end?

Can the mutable subconscious overpower the volatility of the conscious? A needed change..

Are we capable of thinking instead of just seeing?
Are we still capable of using our mind instead of just our eyes and ears?

Let this not be how it ends..
